Malvern, PA, – Ricoh Americas Corporation today launched a new line of monochrome multifunction products (MFPs) that provide powerful information management capabilities, including 11” x 17” printing, to mid-to-large-size workgroups.
The RICOH MP 2554/MP 3054/MP 3554 – with speeds of up to 25, 30, and 35 pages-per-minute, respectively – offer customers new levels of information mobility, empowering them to fully control their MFP via their smartphone or tablet.
Using the new Ricoh Smart Device Connector app (available for iOS or Android), users can walk up to an MFP and automatically take control via QR code or NFC tag on the MFP’s optional Smart Operation Panel. From there, they can easily print, scan, copy or fax using preferences and contacts preconfigured in their smartphone or tablet.
For example:
• A doctor can place an X-ray on the MFP’s glass and have the image scan straight to their smartphone or tablet.
• A salesman can print out a presentation directly from his tablet.
• A fashion designer can scan printed designs to the email accounts residing on her smartphone.

In addition to engaging the Ricoh Smart Device Connector App, the optional Smart Operation Panel on the RICOH MP 2554/ MP 3054 / MP 3554 offers users tablet-like pinch-flick-and-swipe navigation experience on a 10.1-inch Super VGA surface. The panel simplifies copying, scanning and faxing, and includes an advanced Web browser enabling connection to Ricoh’s Integrated Cloud Environment (ICE).
With resolution up to 1,200 dpi, the MFP series optionally includes Ricoh’s Stapleless Finisher – a BLI Summer 2014 Pick winner for Outstanding Achievement in Innovation – which binds as many as five sheets of paper together without any metal fasteners. Also helping to reduce environmental impacts are its energy-efficient features, which have earned the series ENERGY STAR certification. Additionally, the series is EPEAT Gold rated in the U.S. for meeting specific environmental criteria in areas such as End-of-Life Management and Indoor Air Quality.
The RICOH MP 2554 is available for an MSRP of $6,400; the MP 3054 is $8,350; and the MP 3554 is $9,880. These new models replace the RICOH MP 2553, MP 3053, and MP 3353.
