Xerox provides details on recovery plans

• During recent press conference, Xerox executives laid out how the company plans to simplify its operations, making it easier to do business with, as well as how it plans to substantially reduce overall costs.
• For 2019, it expects revenue to be down approximately 5%, and down again 3% in 2020
• Will introduce a new “Powered by Xerox” trademark to leverage Xerox’s innovation and intellectual property across non-Xerox brands.
• Claims it still has the number-one market share in the A3 copier/MFP market, production-printing market, and MPS market
• Forecasts the following for entire market:
o A3 MFP sales to decrease 6% from 2018 to 2020
o MPS sales to grow 3%
o A4 sales to grow 2%
o Production color sales to grow 2%
o Production b/w sales to decrease 12%
o Digital Packaging sales up 11%
• Claims that its current customer base includes:
o Ten of the top-10 global banks.

Xerox wins solution contract

Ricoh PPS received certification

• Toner used in Pro C9200, C9100, C7200 and C7100 series has received Smithers Pira certification of conformity

Canon survey of millennials on print

• for Valentine’s Day 2018, giving printed romance cards (30%) won out over sending e-cards (7%) for Millennials
• more than half (51%) of Millennials gave someone a printed card for a celebratory moment or a holiday compared to just 18% that sent a digital greeting on those occasions

Man caught making gun with 3D printer

Man arrested for stealing print cartridges

• Plymouth, Minnesota police arrested
• allegedly stole $240,000 worth of printer ink, and then tried to sell it on eBay
• When caught, the 41-year-old suspect, an employee of Primera Technology Inc., a Plymouth-based manufacturer of specialty printers, admitted to selling some of the ink cartridges at discount to unsuspecting buyers on Amazon and eBay, according to a search warrant affidavit.
• The alleged scheme began to unravel in December after Plymouth police detective Nick Benesch discovered an eBay account selling Primera-stamped ink cartridges at “lower than the reported supplier cost,” the warrant said.
